GAINING AN EDGE IS WORTH THE RISK...
Dean hates losing more than winning. He is willing to do what it takes to not lose anymore. Including use a new underground human growth hormone called "Fireball" hitting the gyms. It's better than anabolic steroids, improving his legs and shoulder muscles. Anything to avoid second place at body building competitions or in his father's love.
Dean's body is changing. So is his mind.
As the HGH supply runs low, his ex-con buddies are pushing Dean to embrace his criminal side with a casino robbery and murder. That includes serving as pit fighters to a Russian syndicate and drawing the ire of a madman who wants "Fireball" all to himself.
What Dean's friends haven't told him yet is that they are eying a massive payoff as a final solution. A tribal casino sitting on the edge of town. Run by a paranoid general manager who employs a mean streak security detail eager to face a challenge.
Dean and his friends are ready to play the odds to feed a nasty "Fireball" habit, armed to the teeth and ready to take down the biggest score of their lives.
Interview with the Author
Q - So what makes Liquid Courage special?
A - It's a stand alone book, but has a connectable story to other books that I've written. Its a different model than a standard book series. Liquid Courage brings the reader into a different element of the same world as my first book, Ash Wednesday, exploring the sport of competitive bodybuilding, HGH abuse and Native American tribal casinos. I wanted to create the type of book that I wanted to read, which is a great mixture of FBI thrillers fiction, mens rights movement, and modern day gladiators as well as steroids side effects, setting the story in a fictionalized version of Spokane, Wa.
I also thought having an Alex Jones' level of conspiracy was a great way to show the point of view and distrust from the tribal resort staff as the FBI pounds down their doors in the midst of a casino robbery.
Q - Why should readers give Liquid Courage a try?
A - My aim from page one of this book was to make something that I not only wanted to read, but had never read before. This isn't a cop killer fantasy, but a behind the scenes peek into aggressive gym workouts, the creation of massive human muscles and machine guns. It's also about Dean's inability to gain his father's love, and how many things can be framed as addiction that have nothing to do with drug abuse.
Liquid Courage is a great mixture of different genres, focusing on thrillers, suspense and even elements of horror as the human growth hormone abuse of pink cadillac/fireball begins to a metamorphism of the body builders, especially the main character, Dean Shockley. It helps position them into criminals, ready to do anything to feed their nasty, growing habit.
I am a firm believer in cutting down on the word count as well. Liquid Courage is around 80,000 words in order to be a weekend read, to keep you turning the pages with actions and an intense plot.
Thanks for reading!
