La novela de El Linaje de Dayala te sumerge en un mundo fantástico con forma toroidal salpicado por hechicería, dragones, bestias del inframundo, no-muertos y demás posibilidades de acuerdo con los cánones del subgénero espada y brujería. En esta novela encontrarás una gran variedad de personajes principales muchos de ellos de razas poco comunes, quienes vivirán sus vidas relacionándose unos con otros a lo largo del hilo de la historia que les acontece, donde la calidad del detalle tiene el peso que se merece.

La novela comienza con un prólogo que cuenta una porción de la historia de Odio, el rey de los darlais, un monarca que lleva siglos maquinando acabar con El Linaje de Dayala, pero tanto los dioses como su pueblo, no se lo ponen fácil. Los darlais son una raza demoníaca que adora a Valtaur un dios maligno que exilió a Odio y a sus seguidores fuera del Toroide por una disputa relacionada con dragones. El prólogo narra cómo la estirpe de darlais de Odio encuentra la manera de regresar al Toroide.

El resto del libro se fragmenta en tres capítulos, el primero de ellos cuenta la historia de un grupo de jóvenes amigos que viven en una de las ciudades más avanzadas y cosmopolitas del Toroide, la ciudad de New Ailanthus. Dicho grupo de colegas viven una noche de infarto y debido a unas malas decisiones son embarcados en un zepelín que viaja al otro extremo del Toroide a un territorio hostil y casi prehistórico.

El segundo capítulo narra la historia de tres jóvenes que han sido criados como hermanos, quienes viven en las proximidades de una gran ciudad considerada el primer bastión del mal a la luz del día. Estos muchachos no conocen el mundo que les rodea, pues su padre los ha tenido ocultos en una vieja cabaña en la profundidad de un bosque. Cuando se ven obligados a abandonar la cabaña deben enfrentarse al mundo exterior y elegir un camino de acuerdo a unos condicionantes que en un principio no conocen ni ellos.

El tercer y último capítulo retoma la historia del rey de los darlais, pero desde el punto de vista lejano, pues narra la historia de un grupo de jóvenes darlais que viven en una ciudad impía gobernada por Odio. Dichos jóvenes pertenecen a una familia cuyos intereses son escalar en la pirámide del honor de la ciudad y el monarca los reclama para ejercer como guardias de la ciudad, entonces los protagonistas de la historia comienzan a vivir unas aventuras donde lo diabólico se entrecruza con lo demoníaco en una vorágine de caos y los chicos deben imponerse, amparados con las leyes de la ciudad, en una sociedad decadente y enfermiza, colapsada por la corrupción.

No es una novela para un público demasiado joven o sensible, pues puntualmente lo grotesco sacude al lector con escenas crueles cargadas de vísceras y sangre o con escenas sexuales ensombrecidas por una depravación inimaginable.
