My Favor it Men - Doris Hinky is seventy-eight years old when her fifteen year old great grandson comes from Wyoming to live with her in Oklahoma. They haven't seen each other since he was a boy. She has to deal with his bad attitude. She gets support from her neighbor Charlie Scoefield. She gets her strength through prayer. Sandwiches for God's Poor - Reverend Morrison and seven of his elderly parishioners decide to visit all 48 lower states in one summer and feed the homeless besides visiting tourist attractions. They are already good friends but this experience brings them closer together. By the end of the summer they have completed all their bucket lists except they still want to see the northern lights. Gone Fishin' - Agnes and Scott Henderson and their five children love to fish. Scott dreams of someday floating the Mississippi River. Agnes thinks this is a boy's dream for Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn; but Scott and the children talk about it so often Agnes begins to wonder if it is a dream that may come true. The characters in each of these novellas face real problems but also experience happy times and humorous moments. By the end of each story you will feel like you personally know each character. These are easy read stories that are often enjoyed from start to finish in one sitting.
About the Author: My affection for the elderly began in my childhood when my mother took my siblings and me to sing at the nursing home. I have compassion for anyone who faces struggles from disabilities, whether physical or mental. I also have empathy for the homeless. As an adult I have witnessed bullying and intimidation these vulnerable individuals sometimes face, even from people who are supposed to be his or her loved ones. As a concerned Christian, with the help of other caregivers and recipients of care, I wrote "CARING FROM THE HEART how to be or hire a good caregiver". Then it occurred to me that anyone who would read a book with that title probably already was a good caregiver. So hoping to reach a wider audience I started writing fiction. In my stories the characters face real life problems and draw their strength from God. I have found that these stories are especially enjoyed by the elderly because they can identify with the characters. After writing the JOURNEY SERIES I realized how much I enjoyed writing. I now write as a hobby. Most of my books are written in large print with double spacing, which makes them easy on the eyes for the benefit of our seniors. This particular book is a collection of three of my favorite books and is neither large print nor double spaced. I have been married to my husband Bruce for thirty-one years. We have five children and six grandchildren. My family is the most important part of my life. I think of myself as just another old lady trying to get to heaven. Evelyn Baughman
