About the Book

What Is Life?" is the eternal question that we all seek the answer to. This four act play sets out to answer that question with stories featuring the twin themes of the four seasons of Nature and the four stages of life. 'Cedar Mountain' looks at a year in the long bountiful life of a gentle mountain through the eyes of the mountain itself. The keeper of secrets old and new, of experiences young and old, this gentle mountain has seen it all. Not with jaded eyes, but with eyes that radiate pure love for the world around it. 'The Forest' samples a moment in time, when spirits and sorceresses ruled the world with a ruthlessness that was efficiently gentle, and nature was a just means to an undignified end. 'Creativity In Action' looks in on a not-so-typical day of Todd, a wanna-be writer of dubious adult fiction. The trials and tribulations that he goes through in order to write boggles the mind and yet, somehow when all is said and done, gets the reward he richly deserves. 'Red Stripe' examines a typical day in a not-your-prototypical punk rock musician. Krystal, in addition to being an extraordinary vocalist, is also an exceptionally polished classical guitarist. A rising star with the drive and determination to be the best guitarist/vocalist in punk music.
About the Author: I did not put pen to paper or finger to keyboard until a personal epiphany in late 2005 forced me to find a safe outlet for venting my frustrations. So at the ripe old age of 40, I began writing. Mostly, I wrote mediocre stories that for the most part did not see the light of day. By 2007, I had run out steam and became plagued by self-doubts about my writing. One day, after writing myself into a corner for a particular story, I turned to the Internet and somehow found myself completely immersed into the volatile and toxic world of the chat rooms. Ultimately, I spent approximately 3 1/2 years in the chat rooms and, except for learning how to make my point in under 300 words, the chat rooms were almost a complete waste of time. I say "almost", because in mid-2008, a friend introduced me to the world of blogging. For the next four years, not only did I practice my writing, but I picked up a slew of writing tips from other writers as well. In turn, that gave me the confidence to knuckle down and get serious about my writing. The initial end result was my short story 'Cedar Mountain' published in 2009 and 'Red Stripe' published in 2011. Super Bowl Sunday 2010 planted the seed that was to become the novel that I would get traditionally published, no matter what pain was involved. In 2012, that seed bore fruit as 'Line 21' became my first commercial novel. After I received the publishing rights six months early from my publisher in 2015, I re-released that novel with a new cover and a new title: The Inner Sibling. 2015 also saw the release of my self-published novella 'A Taste Of Pain'. 2016 will see the self-published release of my short story anthology 'What Is Life?' When I'm not inflicting written mayhem in both the Real World and the Cyber World, I while away my daytime hours by toiling for the State of Connecticut as a payroll clerk, creating paychecks for other hardworking maligned souls like myself. At night, I relax with my wife, my two children, my cat Holly and chip away at the various slushie pile projects that scream the loudest for me.
