About the Book

Letters to my Brother is a compilation of letters drafted between two Chessador puppies, Boogie and Winchester. Boogie lives in rural North Carolina while Winchester resides in a city in Pennsylvannia. They were so sad when they were separated, they enlisted the help of their moms, Kim and Wendy, to send the letters through something they call "Spacebook". They report on their adventures, look for the rulebook, and learn how to survive in a family - not always graciously. Their mischevious antics are sure to bring a chuckle. When their moms go out in public, they often meet people that refer to them as Boogie and Winchester's mom. They often encourage them to put these letters in a book. They tell them how much they enjoy reading about these adventures. The best or worst part is these stories are true. You can't make up some of these things. Boogie and Winchester are very lucky that they have not landed in the pound or at someone else's house. Laughter is the best medicine in most cases.
About the Author: This is a story written by two brothers. My name is Boogie Brown and my brother's name is Winchester. We were born to a beautiful Chesapeake lady and a handsome Labrador man. We were from a litter of six puppies (three girls and three boys). Our human parents were good friends with my adoptive mom and dad and said they couldn't keep all of us so they posted pictures on a social media site called "Spacebook" or something like that. People all over the world looked at us and considered adopting us. We didn't know why they were taking these pictures and sure would not have posed so cute if we had known they were going to separate us. Our human Mom told us how we were going to new homes and would be loved and taken care of like Kings. My adoptive Mom (Wendy) and Dad (Bennie) came by and met me, they seemed nice enough but I still didn't want to leave my brothers and sisters. I was the first to leave, I was so sad. They brought a crate to take me home in; however, Mom couldn't let me stay in it. She held me close all the way home and I slept in her lap. A few weeks later my Dad's cousins Kim and Mike came to visit. We went back to my Human Parents' home and got Winchester. I was excited and glad to see my Mom and my other family but as before-sad to leave them. Even though we have a great home and family, we still miss our brothers and sisters. Winchester and I are the only two that have kept up with each other. He lives in the city in Pennsylvania with my Dad's cousins Kim and Mike while I live in rural North Carolina. Our parents act like that is a long ways away but Winchester and I think we could meet in the middle or something to get together more often. We missed each other so much we asked our moms to help us write letters. We told them what to say and they sent it out on that "Spacebook" thing. We have been writing for over a year now. Our mail lady says I am mischievious and Mom just laughs and says if she only knew. I don't like getting in trouble but somehow it always finds both of us. Mom says if we weren't so cute, we would end up in the pound. I'm not sure what a pound is but it could be fun. Winchester and I have had a wonderful life and this first year has flown by. We plan on next year being just as exciting.
