Essay aus dem Jahr 2014 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Germanistik, Note: 1,7, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Es war einmal..." oder auch "... und wenn sie nicht gestorben sind, dann leben sie noch heute...". Die Frage, womit man es hier zu tun hat, lässt kaum einen anderen Schluss zu als den folgenden: Es muss sich um ein Märchen handeln. Doch wieso ist man mit diesen Redewendungen so stark vertraut und kann überhaupt den Zusammenhang herstellen? Märchen scheinen trotz ihrer oftmals alten Herkunft immer noch populär und verbreitet in der Bevölkerung zu sein, werden sogar als Kulturgut angesehen. Es sind Geschichten, die von Generation zu Generation weiter vererbt werden. Häufig geschieht dies bereits ab den frühesten Kindertagen, wie zum Beispiel über das Erzählen einer Gute-Nacht- Geschichte der Eltern für die eigenen Kinder. So wird der Kontakt zwischen jungen Menschen und dem Medium Märchen bereits sehr früh hergestellt. Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass eine gewisse Affinität oder zumindest ein Interesse an Märchen geschaffen wird, sollte daher gegeben sein. Auf den ersten Blick könnte sich also diese Textsorte gut für die Leseförderung eignen, schließlich bestehen ja schon eine Vertrauenssituation und dadurch ein Zugang zu Märchen, der in den Kindern frühzeitig verankert wird. Ob dieser Vorteil noch durch andere ergänzt oder auch durch Nachteile widerlegt werden kann, gilt es in diesem Essay zu diskutieren. Hierzu werden zunächst das Mehrebenenmodell von Rosebrock und Nix als theoretische Grundlage zur systematischen Leseförderung und die Ausgangsbedingungen der Schülerinnen und Schüler dieser Altersstufe mit Hilfe der Lesesozialisationsforschung thematisiert. In Bezug auf diese grundlegenden Ausführungen wird untersucht, was für Vor- oder Nachteile in der Verbesserung der Lesekompetenzen durch Märchen entstehen können und letztendlich konkrete Unterrichtsvorschläge zur Leseförderung durch Märchen in der fünften und sechsten Klasse gegeb
