About the Book

Delmira Agustini (1886-1914) fait partie du mouvement moderniste de la première décennie du XX° siècle latino-américain. Si la poète adhéra aux préceptes littéraires en vogue, il semblerait que ce soit pour mieux en usurper la norme afin de se l'approprier. Son oeuvre est unique, venant de par son originalité apporter une note différente, essentielle à la poésie moderniste. Elle écrivit et publia en tant que femme à une époque où les consciences étaient encore fortement sous l'emprise de préceptes phallocratiques, en abordant le thème de l'amour sous une approche féministe empreinte d'un lyrisme érotique très affirmé. L'amour, thème fondamental du recueil Les chants du matin (1910), est décliné sous différentes formes: dominé par la passion dévorante de la femme, vampirique ou mélancolique en raison de l'absence de l'être aimé, confronté au rêve et à la mort. Il est parfois aussi une fusion absolue de deux âmes à jamais entrelacées... Delmira Agustini (1886-1914) est une poète uruguayenne ayant apporté une note féministe conséquente dans le mouvement moderniste auquel elle appartenait. Elle entendait revendiquer les droits de la femme en tant qu'être humain à part entière, sa propre légitimité à s'exprimer sans détour. Elle osa inverser les rôles, conférant à la femme une attitude active dans la relation amoureuse, passant ainsi de l'état d'objet dévolu exclusivement au genre féminin à celui de sujet, incarnant de ce fait la femme fatale tant décriée à l'époque. Elle est auteure de trois recueils de poésie: Le livre blanc (1907), Les chants du matin (1910) Les calices vides (1913). Après son décès prématuré furent édités: Le rosaire d'Éros (1924), Les astres de l'abîme (1924) et Correspondance sexuelle (1969).Monique-Marie IHRY a fait des études de Droit et d'Espagnol. Elle a été enseignante et rédactrice pendant de nombreuses années. Elle est auteure de 17 recueils de poésie, de 3 romans, traductrice (espagnol-français) de 8 ouvrages de poésie, illustratrice de 11 livres, auteure d'un récit de littérature jeunesse et d'un livre d'art. À noter, une étude critique sur la poésie de l'auteure sur le thème La vie, la mort dans l'univers poétique de Monique-Marie IHRY, rédigée le professeur et critique littéraire Mohamed Salah Ben Amor: Figures poétiques du monde, Tome I, La poète Monique-Marie IHRY, Mohamed Salah Ben Amor, IchraQ Éditions, Tunis, 2014. Monique-Marie Ihry a été récompensée par des prix prestigieux. Elle est notamment lauréate 2019 du Grand Prix François-Victor Hugo de la Société des Poètes Français pour sa traduction de Langueur/ Languidez (1920) de la poète argentine Alfonsina Storni
