RAISONS DE CE LIVRE Nous tous sommes convaincus que la Bible est un livre inspiré, ce qui veut dire que Dieu a utilisé pour des générations et pendant plusieurs milliers d'années les hommes et les femmes faisant usage de leurs connaissances, de leurs limitations, de leurs environnements, et de leur temps pour révéler sa volonté dans leurs écrits devenus la Bible. A l'exception de l'introduction des chants folkloriques dans l'adoration par Martin Luther au 16ième siècle, la vraie explosion de ce nouveau genre d'inspiration dans l'Eglise Réformée a eu lieu au 17ième siècle sous le nom des chants ou hymnes religieux. Jusqu'à cette date, les psautiers étaient la seule forme de chants dans l'Eglise. Isaac Newton et autres de son époque étaient les initiateurs de cette révolution dans l'adoration. Les chants évangéliques que nous appelons aussi classiques partaient des inspirations poétiques de vrais chrétiens, des hommes et femmes qui portaient, à travers leurs écrits, leurs témoignages chrétiens. Les auteurs des nos hymnes, dans le vrai sens du mot, sont de peu différents de Moïse, d'Esaïe, de Pierre, de Paul ou d'autres auteurs des 66 livres de la Bible. Les paroles et la musiques des chants classiques sont des messages inspirés que les congrégations chantent pour glorifier, remercier louer Dieu et pour entendre sa voix, pour s'édifier, pour recevoir des encouragements et pour exprimer personnellement leur foi en Dieu. Le nouvel élément que ce livre apporte c'est les histoires derrières chacun de nos hymnes. Il est intéressant d'apprendre quelques histoires dans la bibliographie des auteurs, les passages bibliques ou les événements qui sont les sources d'inspiration des chants, le contenu théologique et pratique des hymnes, et les aspects édifiants dans la vie des auteurs de nos hymnes. Les pages qui forment ce livre en trois volumes ont enrichi ma foi et mes expériences spirituelles. Ce qui est mon motif de les présenter à tous ceux qui veulent spirituellement s'édifier. About the Author: DE L'AUTEUR François Kara Akoa-Mongo est né et a grandi au Cameroun. Il est le 7ième enfant des survivants des feux Pasteur François Akoa Abômô et de Djômô Essômba Suzanne. Après son ordination en 1967, il a servi l'E.P.C. Il poursuit ses études supérieures aux USA jusqu'en 1987, date à laquelle il rentre des USA. En tant que professeur certifié des lycées, il enseigne le français, l'espagnol, le latin et les sciences sociales. Il fut également professeur vacataire à l'Université du Maine pendant 18 ans. Il est père de neuf enfants. L'un d'eux, Akoa Mongo, est depuis 22 ans le pasteur de la paroisse Congrégationnelle de Machiasport, Etat du Maine aux Etats-Unis. Il a une Maîtrise en Théologie, une autre en l'Enseignement de Langues, et le Ph.D. en Education de l'Université du Maine à Orono. Il est l'auteur de sept livres qui portent les titres suivants 1- The Life of Akoa-Mongo Kara; -2-Sermons (125) preached from the Pulpit of Machiasport, Maine; 3- Les 365 Méditations pour les Couples Chrétiens; 4- Le Manuel Pratique des Ministres de la Parole et des Sacrements; 5- Le Pasteur François Akoa Abômô, l'homme l'oeuvre; 6- co-auteur de la Gestion d'une Paroisse dans l'EPC, et 7- celui-ci sur les Procédures des Assemblées Délibérantes.
