Die Informatik generell, speziell aber das Internet und die dort angetroffenen Technologien, Ideen, ... sind einer raschen Entfaltung und Weiterentwickelung unterlegen. Spätestens mit Web 2.0., das eine Reihe interaktive und kollaborative Elemente brachte, gab es eine grundlegende Veränderung des World Wide Webs. Mit ihr traten viele Aspekte in den Vordergrund, die den Gedanken "Onlinecommunity" in eine neue Dimension erhob. Schon lange Zeit zuvor gab es Onlinecommunitys. Doch durch Web 2.0 entstanden technologische Möglichkeiten, die es zuvor nicht gab und den Grundgedanken von Onlinecommunitys erst vollkommen entfalten konnte. Genauso wie Menschen verschieden sind, sind auch deren Lernmethoden, Lernstile, Lerngewohnheiten, Lernumgebung, Lernzeit, ... verschieden. Online Learning eröffnet viele neue Möglichkeiten. In der Regel kann gelernt werden was man will, wo man will, wann man will und wie man will. Online Learning steht somit für problemorientiertes und zeitnahes Lernen, am Arbeitsplatz genauso wie im Bildungs- und Freizeitbereich. Der Trend im Bereich e-Learning geht immer mehr in Richtung "Virtuelle Gemeinschaft", kurzum Onlinecommunity. Die Vorteile von aktuellen Informationen in informellen Personengruppen oder Netzwerken, die auf Grund gemeinsamer Interessen oder Problemstellungen Wissen und Erfahrungen austauschen, hört sich gut an. Doch wie sieht die Praxis aus? Verderben nicht viele Köche den Brei? Theoretisch ergeben sich somit 2 Standpunkte: "Umso mehr Menschen an einer Lösung arbeiten, umso besser wird sie sein" und "Viele Köche verderben den Brei?". E
