English summary: The present volume is concerned with fundamental pedagogical problems in biology, especially related to encouraging students in courses of mixed competence. More importantly, how does group work (particularly groups of two, or a dyad) compare pedagogically with individual work in terms of student success and what role can example problems play in student encouragement, learning and course success. The empirical results of this study show that the use of biological example problems is suitable for individual students as well as for students working in paired groups. Students with low foreknowledge were similarly successful in all studied learning situations, whether they were working by themselves or with a partner. Students with greater competence profited when paired with those with lesser foreknowledge of the subject. The rate of success is only slightly affected in pairs of students who share a high degree familiarity in the subject, though their experience can be improved through self-explanation (the process by which a student learns the material by explaining it to themselves.) The insights from this DGF-supported project of the research group and post-graduate program Scientific Instruction (Nwu-Essen) demonstrates the possibilities of how students in mixed-ability biology classes are encouraged through the utilization of example problems. Beispielaufgaben haben sich fur das individuelle Lernen bereits vielfach bewahrt. Unklar ist jedoch, ob sich Schulerinnen und Schuler bei der partnerschaftlichen Erarbeitung von Beispielaufgaben in Dyaden (Partnerarbeit) gegenseitig unterstutzen konnen, welchen Einfluss das Vorwissen dabei nimmt und ob sich der Lernprozess durch Selbsterklarungsimpulse zusatzlich anregen lasst.Die empirischen Ergebnisse der vorliegenden Studie zeigen, dass die eingesetzten biologischen Beispielaufgaben sowohl fur das individuelle Lernen als auch fur das Lernen in Dyaden geeignet sind. Lernende mit niedrigem Vorwissen sind dabei in allen untersuchten Lernsituationen gleich erfolgreich, wobei sie in der Tendenz beim individuellen Lernen besser abschneiden als beim Lernen in Dyaden. Lernende mit hohem Vorwissen profitieren insbesondere, wenn sie mit einem Partner lernen, der ein niedriges Vorwissen aufweist. Lernen Schulerinnen und Schuler mit hohem Vorwissen dagegen gemeinsam, fallt der Lernerfolg verhaltnismassig gering aus, kann aber durch Selbsterklarungsimpulse gesteigert werden. Die Erkenntnisse aus diesem DFG-geforderten Forschungsprojekt der Forschergruppe und des Graduiertenkollegs "Naturwissenschaftlicher Unterricht" (nwu-essen) zeigen Moglichkeiten auf, wie Schulerinnen und Schuler in leistungsheterogenen Klassen durch den Einsatz von Beispielaufgaben im Biologieunterricht gefordert werden konnen.
