Verfolgte man die Debatte, konnte man merken, dass das Interesse sich mehr und mehr auf das tabu belegte Thema der Lehrergewalt konzentriert. In renommierten Zeitschriften, wie dem Focus oder dem Stern, stehen Überschriften wie: Lehrergewalt - vertuschen und ignorieren oder auch Schläge, Beleidigungen, Mobbing - Tabuthema Lehrergewalt. Gerade als angehender Lehrer ist es interessant und wichtig zu wissen, was überhaupt zu der verbalen Gewalt gehört, denn viele LehrerInnen wissen nicht, wie sie ihre SchülerInnen durch ihr Verhalten kränken und verletzen können, bzw. ist es oftmals kein gewolltes Verhalten, was man durch öffentlich machen der Kriterien von verbaler Gewalt, vermeiden könnte. Dennoch muss gerade die Institution Schule ein Anliegen daran haben, die Lehrenden und Lernenden über die verschiedenen Gewaltformen aufzuklären und davor zu schützen. Wenn man sich an seine Schulzeit zurückerinnert, kommen einem viele Beispiele in den Kopf, in denen man sich von der Lehrkraft gedemütigt oder ignoriert gefühlt hat. Als gutes Beispiel dient hier folgendes Szenario: "Sie wurden an die Tafel gerufen, weil Sie die Hausaufgaben vergessen haben. Dem Lehrer war völlig bewusst, dass es demütigend für Sie ist an der Tafel zu stehen und nichts zu wissen. Vielleicht haben ihre Mitschüler sogar darüber noch gelacht. Kommt es Ihnen bekannt vor? Wie Sie sehen können, verbirgt dieses Thema viele persönliche Erinnerungen an die eigene Schulzeit. Die Forschung hat mittlerweile viel zu den Gewaltformen von Lehrergewalt und der allgemeinen Häufigkeit erforscht, allerdings gibt es kaum Untersuchungen darüber, wie die Häufigkeiten im Vergleich der Schulformen dastehen.
