About the Book

Alvin is a young man plagued with nightmares of a shadowy creature pursuing him until his eighteenth birthday when it finally takes ahold of him. Out of his control he begins transforming into a werewolf almost killing two of his cousins. His mother tells him about his father, and she warns him not to seek him out after being questioned by Alvin. Being young and stubborn, he sets out to find his father so he can get answers to what he has become and a way to change himself back. Beginning his journey, he is left to die but is found by an old farmer and his son who help him only to meet his darker half. Later he meets E'syn. E'syn lets him know that he knows about him and can help him deal with what he's becoming. After setting out again they come across Sam who doesn't trust anyone right away and he attacks them before making a fast getaway. Traveling together, they are captured by the Sons of Sons. They witness firsthand the evil deeds that men of power commit on their fellow man. Alvin decides that he must put an end to what they are doing. But their General Martin AKA the Judge, gets away after realizing that he has never dealt with someone like Alvin. Hurt after a confrontation with the General of the Sons of Sons, Sam is met by Alvin and E'syn who decide to save his life after figuring out that they have a common goal. Along their travels Alvin begins to have dreams of an elderly man named Lorne who tells him to seek him out. While planning how they're going to deal with the Judge they are attacked and get information about his whereabouts and set out to find him. Arriving at a strange town they are met by a wood elf who says that he can help them find the Judge but upon leaving he is nowhere to be found. They travel to a dangerous place known as Serpent Mountain and are greeted by a goliath snake. Lorne gives them a potion that passes his power onto them and sends them off. Then they are followed by a mysterious stranger who leads them into a trap. But he has plans on getting his family back who are being held captive by the Judge. Making it to the Judges headquarters they discover the Pukwudgies, whose Queen is being held captive. They decide to help them get their Queen back in exchange for their help with dealing with the Judge and his men. The Queen is freed, and Sam confronts the Judge. Alvin saves his life but is struck by a poisoned blade as he pushes Martin into a wall. Alvin is taken to the town where Sam grew up to see a healer called Old Lady Willow. Alvin recovers in a few days. This gives Alvin and the others time to hone their new abilities gifted to them from Lorne. Alvin meets a girl and falls for her. While Sam revisits memories from when he was happy. The three set out to confront Martin one final time with the aid of the Pukwudgies and are surprised when they find out who Martin really works for. A battle ensues taking the life of one of Alvins friends, but they emerge victorious. After being home once again Alvin is happy to be with his family once again. Further away Alvins father is waiting for the arrival of his children and is soon met with one of the many.
