About the Book

Shadow of the Eagle - When a mysterious apparition appears briefly over the frontier town of Empire City, the lives of everyone who sees it are changed forever.

Bounty hunter Gideon Pierce had been on the trail of Warner Gray, who had been waging a one-man war against the railroad, but the golden object in the sky distracts him. Warner kills again and worse, afterward Gideon remembers the incident differently to everyone else leading to him being blamed for Warner's latest crime.

With the apparition giving Gideon strange visions of another world, he follows Warner to Eagle Heights, an abandoned gold mine with a terrible past and an uncertain future. With mysterious gunmen who lurk in the shadows on his tail, Gideon will need all his gun skills to clear his name and to uncover the truth.

Liberty Showdown - When Gideon Pierce flees the mining town of Liberty after being wrongly accused of killing a lawman, he vows to return and take revenge on the man responsible, Warner Gray. But with the ruthless businessman Rudyard Crosby now controlling the gold mine, he knows he'll be shot the moment he steps foot in town.

To take on Rudyard he needs to know why the businessman is determined to re-open the mine and return Liberty to its former glory. The answer lies with Emerson Hall, the man who owned the mine until fifty miners were killed in a terrible night of violence.

It seems that this event, along with Gideon's strange visions of another world and the mysterious apparition in the sky are all connected. That means Gideon's mission is sure to lead to a showdown, and the truth about what lies buried in the Eagle Heights mine will send even more men to Liberty's Boot Hill.

Last Stand on Eagle Heights - When Gideon Pierce finally defeats Warner Gray, he hopes his problems will be over, but they are only just beginning. The truth about Warner's role in Liberty leaves Gideon alone and fighting for his life in a town where he can trust no-one.

Gunfight at Last Hope Canyon - With Rudyard Crosby's plans for the Eagle Heights mine destroyed, Gideon Pierce is free to put right his greatest mistake. His decision to pursue Warner Gray and not to stay with Messina Doyle ultimately led to her death, but now it seems that she might not be dead, after all.

The Sky Rider - When Gideon Pierce is saved from seemingly certain death by a mysterious stranger, he is free to return to Liberty, but that now appears to be an impossible task. With his adversaries embarking on their own plans to reach the golden object in the sky, there seems to be no way Gideon can even get into the town, never mind defeat them.

The Statue at the Edge of Time - Gideon Pierce returned to Liberty to stop Lloyd Mitchell reaching the apparition in the sky, but in a town controlled by Lloyd and his seemingly invincible guards his chances appear remote.

The Side of the Angels - With the final appearance of the golden apparition in the sky due to take place within hours, Gideon Pierce has one last opportunity to stave off disaster and save Messina Doyle, but with the forces aligned against him holed up on Eagle Heights, his chances of success are slim.

To gain control of Eagle Heights Gideon will have to form an alliance with his former foe Lloyd Mitchell, a man who distrusts Gideon as much as Gideon distrusts him. Even if they can somehow find a way to unite against a common enemy, they will still have to face the seemingly unsolvable problem that the final apocalyptic gunfight is a battle that Gideon is fated to lose.
