About the Book

How to take control of your personal and financial legacy to create a safeguard so your family won't fall apart when you are gone. The author takes you through her experience with losing two children and how in spite of impossible odds, overcame the grief, guilt and condemnation from these events to experience a "Cinderella" transformation. How this transformation led to her success as a financial advisor and her desire to help others who have experienced loss. The author uses her story of loss to impress upon people the importance of creating not just an estate plan, but a legacy plan. The book discusses in detail how a legacy plan is so much more than a financial plan. How you, by creating a legacy plan for your family, can help your family move through their most difficult time, a time when you are no longer here to help them. There are tips, ideas and resources to help you to create a loving legacy that will last long after you are gone. Your family will thank you.
About the Author: Mary Beth grew up in Bridgewater, NJ with her parents and her three brothers. Her parents say she was born singing. As a young girl her father would push her on the glider and they would sing, "Let's go fly a kite" and "East Side, West Side". She was very athletic and wanted to become the best at every sport so that she could spend time with her brothers. She always had a love of children. She used to always answer the question, "What do you want to do when you grow up?" with "A mommy or a nurse." She attended Bridgewater Raritan High School East where she played softball and joined the choir and theater group. She started playing the piano at a very young age and took vocal lessons through high school. She attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick where she double majored in English and pre-school education with a minor in Music. Her first job was a Head Start Program in New Brunswick, NJ. She then got a job as a computer programmer at AT&T in Piscataway. NJ and later was moved to Bell Communications Research (Bellcore). She continued in sports playing racquetball, tennis and started running, sometimes as many as 10 miles at a clip. She left Bellcore after the birth of her second child. When she went back to work after her divorce she was a preschool teacher in Easton, PA. Moving to the Poconos, she continued her teaching career and became a Realtor. All of the careers she has had have prepared her for where she is now. Mary Beth's mother is a financial advisor and suggested she become a financial advisor. This was not a comfortable idea for Mary Beth but she took her 7 and 66 and her life as a financial advisor began. She also received her chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation, CRPC. After a few years, she teamed up with her mother and they continue to this day as a successful Mother - Daughter team. Mary Beth loves working as a financial advisor in Warren, NJ . Mary Beth continues to use all the skills she has acquired over her lifetime to help her clients on a daily basis. Her heart and passion is to help people change their mindset about estate planning in order to help them protect their wealth and their families. Mary Beth is currently living in the Poconos, PA with her husband Robert. She has 4 children, Meghan, Kevin, Timothy and Faith and a step-daughter Toni. She continues to sing, exercise and loves to take long walks with her husband.
