About the Book

From the author of Civic Action, Year of the Monkey and the Leatherneck Warriors series, comes Book II, The Revolution. Lieutenant Larry Monroe and his B-team are assigned a mission to investigate the Cuban revolutionaries, Fidel and Raul Castro. Monroe travels to Mexico City and meets with Raul Castro where he quickly finds himself in trouble with a notorious revolutionary figure. The B-team quickly swings into action, saving the day. Full of intrigue mixed with historical facts and figures, the Leatherneck Warriors Book II is an action packed, behind the scenes look at the beginning of the Cuban Revolution.
About the Author: Gene Hays lives with his wife in Oxford, Mississippi along with three of his sons and their families. Gene retired from Active Duty in the Marine Corps in January 1986 and was transferred to the Regular Retired List in 1995. Gene was trained as an aviation electronics technician, serving over 21 years until his retirement in 1986. He served overseas twice, first in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, followed by Thailand, the Philippines and Japan from 1973 to 1974. Gene served over 7 years as an instructor in avionics at the basic and advanced schools in Memphis, Tennessee and on CH-53 weapons systems used in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft at Tustin, California. In 1978 he was selected to serve at Headquarters, United States Marine Corps, in Washington, D.C., as an Assistant Aviation Monitor managing over 7,000 Enlisted Marines in over 60 different military occupational specialties. In 1981, Gene was instrumental in establishing the newly formed Enlisted Aviation Maintenance Trainee Management Unit in Memphis, Tennessee that managed the follow-on training of all Marine Enlisted Aviation Trainees. At his retirement in 1986, Gene was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. His personal decorations include the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat "V" and the Combat Action Ribbon, as well as several letters of commendation. After his retirement, Gene worked for Martin Marietta Data Systems for five years, and went on to teach electronics at two different two-year colleges. In 1996, Booz-Allen, Hamilton Inc. selected Gene as a Senior Consultant to the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since returning in 1997 from Saudi Arabia, Gene has worked in his field of electronics and in the banking industry and is currently retired, working as an author of both fiction and non-fiction books.
