You've probably heard of the idea of LEAN MANAGEMENT and its growing success in the business world.
Yet if you have not, don't worry. You will get to know Lean over the next few chapters of this book. AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!!!
Lean Management is typically derived from the Toyota Production Process, as established over a span of forty years by Taiichi Ohno, Shigeo Shingo and others.
This began with efforts to reduce the die change time on the stamping press which then allowed in-process inventory to be reduced and this became just-in-time inventory management.
This led to the need for less room for the factory, less forklifts, insufficient room etc. When the work process can be freely disrupted, free from sitting, standing, and redo-looping items, the waste is removed. Lean is wastage management. But, more significantly, lean is continuous change in all aspects of work.
There's absolutely no surprise that Lean management is now widely distributed through sectors. The Lean definition tends to be a popular management method, due to its core principles and positive effect on overall performance of companies.
The Lean principle can be applied in any company or production process, from manufacturing to marketing and software development.
There are a number of big benefits from which managers (and even workers) will reap by learning LEAN:
- Concentrate. You'll be able to minimize waste practices by using Lean. Therefore the employees should concentrate on value-bringing operations.
- Improving efficiency & profitability. If workers concentrate on generating value, they can be more effective and successful, so ambiguous tasks won't bother them.
- Smarter (Pull System) method. By setting up a pull system, you will only be able to produce work if the demand is genuine. That leads to another.
- Effective Resource Usage. If your output is focused on real demand, you can only use as many resources as you need.
As a result, the company (team) will be much more agile and will be able to adapt much quicker to customer needs.
In the end, the concepts of Lean management would allow you to build a stable production system with a higher chance of improving overall efficiency.
Lean's Essence is To Create Continuous Improvement.ENJOY!!!
