About the Book

English summary: Albertus Magnuss Tractatus de fluxu causatorum a causa prima et causarum a causa prima et causarum ordine brings together two philosophical views that, on the surface, seem irreconcilable: Neoplatonism and Christianity. The thirteenth-century scholar and philosopher attempts to examine the origin of the world, finding a path between the worlds creation ex nihilo in Christianity and the emanation, or flux, of the world for Neoplatonists. This French translation and commentary on Magnuss work serves as a useful contribution to studies of medieval intellectual and metaphysical debate.
