About the Book

English summary: Matteo Riccis Lord of Heaven became one of the integral texts of Chinese intellectual tradition, opening the way for a forth school of thought, Confucian Christianity, alongside Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. The sixteenth-century Jesuit priests dialogue with a Confucian scholar, using both scholastic philosophy and Chinese classical texts to argue that Christianity was compatible with Chinese tradition. A French translation accompanies the annotated Chinese text.
Il a publie The Religious Philosophy of Liang Shuming: The Hidden Buddhist (Boston: Brill, 2011), Confucius Sinarum Philosophus (1687): The First Translation of the Confucian Classics (Rome: IHSI, 2011), Following the Footsteps of the Jesuits in Beijing (St Louis: Jesuit Sources, 2006).
