Cet album comprend une partie complémentaire expliquant la légende du zodiaque chinois et les caractéristiques des 12 animaux que rencontre Ruby dans le récit. Des instructions pour fabriquer une lanterne en papier, un éventail en papier et des bannières porte-bonheurs sont également incluses!
In this picture book celebrating Chinese New Year, animals from the Chinese zodiac help a little girl deliver a gift to her grandmother.
Ruby has a special card to give to her grandmother for Chinese New Year. But who will help her get to grandmother's house to deliver it? Will it be clever Rat, strong Ox, or cautious Rabbit? Each of the 12 zodiac animals will offer their help along the way. But when something goes awry, Ruby is reminded that family is what matters most.
This picture book includes back matter that explains the legend of the Chinese Zodiac along with the characteristics of the twelve animals that Ruby encounters in the story. Instructions on how to make a paper lantern, a paper fan and good luck banners are also included!

About the Author: VICKIE LEE est acuponctrice et praticienne de médecine chinoise. Elle est diplômée de l'Université de Columbia où elle a obtenu un baccalauréat en études est-asiatiques et en littérature anglaise. Sa fille Ruby, qui comme Vickie adore les animaux et la culture chinoise, l'a inspirée à écrire cette histoire. Vickie vit à Brooklyn, dans l'État de New York.
JOEY CHOU est né à Taiwan et a déménagé en Californie lorsqu'il était adolescent. C'est à Pasadena qu'il a reçu son baccalauréat en arts de l'Art Center College of Design. Le jour, Joey travaille en tant qu'artiste de développement visuel pour des films animés, et le soir, il est illustrateur de livres jeunesse.
VICKIE LEE is an acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner. She graduated from Columbia University with a dual degree in East Asian Studies and English Literature. She was inspired by her daughter, Ruby, and their shared love of animals and of Chinese culture to create this story. Vickie lives in Brooklyn, New York.
JOEY CHOU was born in Taiwan and moved to sunny California in his early teens. There he received his BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Joey works by day as a visual development artist on feature animated films, and by night as a picture book illustrator.
