After Patricia Trent's husband dies, leaving her a young widow, she promises she will never marry again and subject herself to the risk of such heart-rending loss.
She stands firm in this promise through the years...until she locks eyes with a handsome, charismatic man during the last dance at a club. Drawn to him by a fierce magnetism, her resolve to stay alone-and protect her heart-crumbles.
But it isn't automatically "happily ever after" for Pat and her new lover Sam as their individual pasts threaten to thwart their shared future. Pat will do anything to avoid experiencing the pain of losing a loved one again, while Sam has a young family that needs him.
But destiny wants them together.
Through ups and downs, ecstasy and pain, Pat and Sam share a love that ignites their hearts and brings romance back to their lives. And though they never marry, they share a commitment and a love that sustain them to the very end.
Narrated in the third person, this memoir of passion and devotion is sure to thrill die-hard romantics and fans of true love stories.
