About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION A stunning work which documents the activity of prominent women who participate actively in the drug trade. In the middle of the crossfire of the war against crime declared by Felipe Calderón, a considerable generation of women has begun to stand in for their deceased husbands, brothers, and fathers. From trophy wives or beautiful companions, many women involved in the drug trade have become executioners, gunslingers, and hitwomen, demonstrating that it only seems that heels don't go with a semiautomatic. To complete this book, Arturo Santamaría, a Sinaloan journalist with a long career at the daily paper Noroeste, gathered a team of reporters and academics that were given the task of investigating the role that the female gender plays in the world of drug trafficking.
