About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

"Twelve women with the same dream. Twelve months to achieve it.

Sea Dreaming Girls is a novel based on real events that is full of tenderness and sprinkled with humor, a story that reminds us that it is never too late to make your dreams come true.

Every year, the women of the senior center in Daone, a village in the heart of the Alps, organize a trip to break up the monotony of life in the valley. But this time, the president has proposed to celebrate the club's 20th anniversary with a very special journey. Most of these elderly women have never set foot on the beach in their lives, and have only seen the sea on television or a faded postcard. Now they have the opportunity to make this dream come true, and decide to all go together to the coast for the first time.

But this beautiful wish isn't easy to fulfill for a group of intrepid grannies, and with the economic crisis, the club of retirees is strapped for cash. Luckily, the ideas start to flow: maybe they can earn something with Bingo, or maybe they can bake cookies to sell... they might even be able to pose for a calendar like the firemen do! And what if they did crowdfunding like they've seen on the Internet?
