About the Book

This book is actually 2 books in 1: The first is a 6-chapter, 180 page instructional book that lays the foundation of how we can tune in to the ways God speaks to every person every day. Most books that deal with hearing God are general and theoretical, merely dealing with the various ways in which He speaks and who He spoke to. This book however will not only teach you how to recognize the ways God speaks to you individually in your own language, but also to discern what He actually says to you personally and specifically on a daily basis. You will learn how to be sensitive to recognize the many ways God uses everyday observations and events to communicate spiritual truths to you, just as Jesus communicated deep truth and insights to His disciples simply by making observations about people, animals, food, nature, clothing, and even the weather. You will learn to identify and correct 10 hindrances to hearing God, such as ignorance, insecurity, unworthiness, fear and others. You will also see from Scripture, 8 wrong steps, in the form of beliefs and judgments, that people take that hinder and prevent hearing the voice of God, and how to get back on the right track. It also has a section on interpreting dreams and visions from a Biblical perspective. The second book is a 52-chapter, 220 page devotional book, laid out as a weekly topical study, with each week's subject based on a testimonial anecdote about how God spoke to the author through simple everyday events. Along with each weekly anecdote are 7 daily Scriptures that relate to that specific topic for study and meditation. In addition, it includes a weekly personal study journal to assist you in recognizing how and when God speaks to you, as well as a method to "translate" what He specifically says to you each and every day into your own language. Your faith will be greatly encouraged to know that God speaks to you personally every day, and by using these simple methods, you will develop your own "ears to hear" what God says to you.
About the Author: Mike Glass is a native of St. Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in a Jewish household and became a Christian while in college. He attended the University of Minnesota where he studied business as well as creative writing. He has lived in Denver, Colorado since 1978, where he has worked in business, home remodeling and Real Estate. He has always had a passion for the Scriptures, learning and teaching, particularly in any area having to do with hearing and knowing God. Most of his Christian life has been spent working with youth, as volunteer youth staff, teacher, discipler, camp counselor; and he has led high school youth groups on various ministry and mission trips to do volunteer service in such places as Jackson, MS and Juarez, Mexico. He has led home groups, taught numerous classroom Bible courses, Bible studies, Sunday School classes, and is a seminar and conference speaker. In Denver he was part of a Biblical research team of leaders whose peers included Marshall Shelley, now an author, associate editor and vice president of Christianity Today, Richard Cizik, former Vice President of the National Association of Evangelicals, and Robert Skold, creator and former director of Providence House Ministries. He is a certified trainer in the Evangelism Explosion program, and attended the Lay Christian Training Institute through Denver Theological Seminary. In the 1980's Mike felt a strong calling of God to begin to process and communicate his passion for hearing and knowing God to others, so he began to write, teach and speak on these subjects. He was part of ministry teams that have been invited to minister and speak in many cities in the U.S. as well as in Juarez, Mexico and British Columbia, Canada. He has written and taught many classroom curriculum, workshops and seminars in the areas of how to hear God speaking, the dynamics of spiritual gifts, the relationship of prophetic and intercessory gifts and ministries, and Biblical dream interpretation. He is in the process of finishing several books on these subjects as well, and hopes to have them in print soon. His website is www.jeremiah333.com.
