About the Book

Christine Patterson was born in the New York Hudson Valley frontier. Her father, Robert James Patterson, was the founder and Lord Mayor of their settlement of Patterson, New York. She was raised with frontiersman like Robert Rogers and the Mohican Indians. She became the adopted daughter of the great chief Hassun. Life was hard, but fun with her Indian and backwoodsman friends. She could to ride, fight, think and track as well as any Indian brave. She was a real tomboy and liked fighting with boys her own age and older. She could out fight, out shoot, out ride, and out think all the other boys, both white and red in the Hudson Valley. Just as everything was going so well for settlement, the most horrible incident of her life occurred. The Abenaki and Huron Indians along with French Trappers attacked the valley. Everyone was killed except for her and three other young girls. Forced to watch the murders of her family before her eyes, she was taken captive carrying her father's scalp on her long march north to Canada. Held captive and sexually abused for five years she endured the worst possible life. Miraculously, she was rescued by her younger brother Pip with twenty-two Mohicans set out to rescue Christine and destroy the Abenaki village. Pip brought her and three other captive girls back to their maternal grandfather, James Farrell, to live in his house in Elizabethtown, New Jersey. After years in Elizabethtown, Christine could not face all of the questioning faces of the people in Elizabeth. She went to live in New York City with her Aunt Gwen. But, New York was not far enough from the wagging tongues. She decided to go to England and live with her other aunt, Lady Barbara Farrell Hamilton in Essex. With the inheritance from her paternal grandfather and a yearly allowance from her maternal grandfather she would be able to live the life of a 'Lady' in London Society. She would leave her past in the New World and start anew in the Old. Her introduction to England began with her coach ride to London from Portsmouth being set upon by the infamous Captain Osborne. This would leave a mark in her mind and change her life once again. Christine will make friends with two other young ladies of society, together that set about to make their own mark on society as the romp from soirée to soirée, lover to lover, and holdup to holdup. Lady Lace is a rollicking sexual romp through the hypocrisy of English High Society. Her goal is to change the lives ordinary people that the more "noble" society would rather forget.
