THE LACHIANS
A group of teenagers is drawn into a centuries-old prophecy on a mystical planet when they fall asleep. That planet's inhabitants believe these three girls and two boys are destined to restore their planet's dwindling magical power. At first, these are simply fun, fanciful, imaginary adventures involving magic, dragons, and unicorns. However, the children soon discover that anyone killed in these dreams dies in their sleep here on Earth. Their lives are now in peril because the planet Mearth's ruling party will do anything to thwart them.
A massive dragon has carried off the three girls, and a king is holding one of the boys at sword point. The five heroes must escape and find help to steal the remaining five talismans. Fulfilling the prophecy is becoming more difficult and dangerous with every step they take, but it is too late to stop now.
In this second volume of the Chronicles of Mearth Trilogy, the heroes provoke an unknown kingdom, confront slavers, and battle the most powerful magicians they have ever met. And there are more dragons.
The teens also begin to learn each other's identities back home on Earth and make some startling discoveries. Mearth's magic and Earth's math and science appear to have much in common. They also find historical patterns which indicate that people like themselves have been dreaming of Mearth, attempting to fulfill The Prophecy, and failing, for thousands of years.
