Ética nicomáquea o Ética a Nicómaco (griego Ἠθικὰ Νικομάχεια, sob transliterado Ethika Nikomacheia; gen.: Ἠθικῶν Νικομαχείων, Ethikōn Nikomacheiōn; latín Ethica Nicomachea) es el nombre dado a la obra más conocida de Aristóteles sobre ética, escrita en el siglo IV a. C. Se trata de uno de los primeros tratados conservados sobre ética y moral de la filosofía occidental. Este escrito juega un rol importante en la definición de la ética aristotélica, consiste en diez libros, originalmente pergaminos, y su entendimiento está basado en notas de sus disertaciones en el Liceo. El título de la obra en ocasiones se asume que se refiere a su hijo Nicomachus, al cual el trabajo pudo ser dedicado o pudo haber participado en su edición (pero por su corta edad en el momento, esta posibilidad es poco probable).La obra abarca un análisis de la relación del carácter y la inteligencia con la felicidad. Junto con el mensaje bíblico judeocristiano, constituye uno de los pilares fundamentales sobre los que posteriormente se erigió la ética occidental.El texto está dividido en 10 libros. Los libros V-VII coinciden en contenido con los libros IV-VI de la Ética eudemia. Antes que él, Platón había abordado el tema en diversas obras, como el Protágoras, la República, el Filebo y en otros Diálogos, pero no con una modalidad tan sistemática. Otros filósofos contemporáneos a Aristóteles se mencionan en la presente obra, como por ejemplo Espeusipo y Eudoxio, de quien Aristóteles toma su definición del mal. La virtud según Aristóteles depende del contexto y de las diferentes situaciones que vive un individuo. Es un hábito para decidir ante determinadas situaciones. No puede ser virtuoso de la misma manera un esclavo que un hombre libre, un rico que un pobre, un varón que una mujer. Como Platón y Sócrates, Aristóteles sostiene que la virtud lleva a la felicidad y esa es la base de la ética. A diferencia de Platón y Sócrates, Aristóteles enseña que la virtud no viene directamente del conocimiento, sino que requiere el hábito, que la felicidad no es un estado sino una actividad, y que el placer no es la felicidad sino una consecuencia de la virtud. Hay que destacar especialmente que el hombre tiene un fin en sí que proviene de su propia naturaleza racional, y que no es absorbido por los fines del Estado, sino que al contrario individuo y estado, respecto de sus fines, coinciden. Aquí está la clave de lectura de la ética de Aristóteles: la finalidad del acto humano. Todo acto tiene un fin último, que es la felicidad, pero se puede buscar este fin en diversas cosas. Aristóteles muestra que el fin ha de ser específico del hombre, y esto es la contemplación, a la cual ayuda la virtud necesariamente, pues la virtud busca el medio que le da la recta razón del individuo. La contemplación es el acto más autosuficiente y estable y para la plena felicidad requiere también el placer.
