Ce ne sera qu'une partie du peuple, au reste, qui retournera a J�hovah et sera une semence sainte, Isaac, x, 22; VI, 13. C'est � ce faible reste que J�hovah adresse d'une man1ere toute par ticul1ere ses proph�ties sur l'oeuvre qu'accomplira son Les ch. XL-XLVIII mettent en lum1ere la majest� de J�hovah qui se manifeste par la d�livrance mat�rielle de son peuple; mais d�j� apparaissent les promesses de la d�livrance spirituelle. La personne du Serviteur de Dieu forme le centre et le point culminant dans les ch. XLIX - LVII. Enfin nous contemplons les r�sultats de l'oeuvre du Serviteur et la f�licit� de ses �lus, LVIII-LXVI (schmitz).

Relativement au langage, il n'y a rien de plus achev�, de plus lumineux dans tout l'ancien Testament que cette trilogie de discours d'lsa1e. Dans les ch. 1 - xxx1x, le langage du proph�te est g�n�ralement plus concis, plus lapidaire, plus plastique, quoique d�j�., l�. Aussi, son style sache prendre toutes sortes de couleurs. Mais ici, XL - LXVI, o� il n'est plus sur le terrain du pr�sent, o�, au contraire, il est ravi dans un lointain avenir comme dans sa patrie, le langage lui-m�me prend en quelque sorte le caract�re de l'id�al et je ne sais quoi (1 �th�r�; il est devenu semblable � un large fleuve, aux eaux brillantes et limpides, qui nous transporte comme dans l'�ternit�, sur ses flots majestueux et en m�me temps doux et clairs. Dans deux passages seulement, il est dur, trouble, lourd, c'est un et LVI 9 Le premier refl�te le sentiment de la tristesse, le second celui de la col�re. Partout, du reste, se manifeste l'influence du sujet trait� et des sentiments qu 'il produit. Dans LXIII,7,16 proph�te prend le ton du Tefilla (ou de la priere) liturgique; dans LX.
