El propósito de este estudio fue investigar la percepción del docente en relación con el acoso escolar en una escuela de nivel intermedio en Puerto Rico.El marco teórico de esta investigación es la Teoría Social de Albert Bandura. Los objetivos de la investigación fueron identificar las percepciones de los docentes sobre el acoso escolar en su institución, así como la relación entre estas percepciones y aspectos socio-demográficos de los docentes. El diseño de esta investigación fue no experimental y descriptivo, de tipo transversal, basado en una encuesta de opinión. Participaron 15 docentes de la escuela objetivo. La investigación constó de tres etapas y el análisis de los datos incluyó el uso de estadísticas descriptivas e inferenciales. Los resultados mostraron evidencia para describir la percepción general del docente sobre el acoso escolar, los lugares donde frecuentemente ocurren los casos de acoso, los tipos de acoso más observados por los docentes, los efectos del acoso escolar, las reacciones de docentes y estudiantes ante casos de acoso y las acciones tomadas por el docente para combatir el acoso escolar. También se observó que hubo diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre las opiniones de los profesores sobre acoso escolar y las variables años de experiencia y grado que dicta el docente. Se concluye que existen áreas específicas en las cuales el docente debe formarse para poder combatir el acoso escolar y se propone un plan de prevención y acción.
