About the Book

La palabra es el Cuerpo Rosa Aurora Chavez Eakle National Autonomous University of Mexico University Poetry Prize 1994 La Palabra es el Cuerpo opens an interior space where the body conceives, gestates and nourishes the word and the word incarnates corporality, respiration and tongue, life, death and pleasure at an intimate gathering where all times flow between multiple mirrors; confronting the fear to flow and dissolve: the possibility of madness. The origin of life is the origin of the word, continuous space between poetry and dream. Movement that is life, identity, knowing our own face by discovering it in the eyes of those who see us, mirror, window, virtual link. Body-earth vulnerable in the absurdity of war where death is a painful certainty. La Palabra es el Cuerpo is also ars poetica, ephemeral immortality, inaccessible to consciousness in the underground rivers of the unconscious. Body as a musical instrument, that is constantly resignified, crossing the boundary with music in a score of multiple voices and meanings. The word is body and encounter.
