ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
A beautiful actress. A despotic lord.
A divorce that ends in murder?
Hercule Poirot and his faithful friend, Captain Hastings, receive an unusual commission from a beautiful actress, Jane Wilkinson. Married to the English aristocratic despot Lord Edgware, he refuses to grant her a divorce, which is why she requires the help of the famous Belgian researcher. However, to Poirot's surprise, the aristocrat claims that he sent a letter to his wife some time ago accepting his demand.
The actress's joy at hearing the news is immense, but what seemed to be a settled matter is unexpectedly complicated: Lord Edgware is found stabbed in his mansion, and the secretary and butler of the murdered nobleman claim that the woman dressed in black who requested to see Lord Edgware on the night of his death was none other than his wife, Jane Wilkinson.
