- Auteur - Guy de MAUPASSANT, né en 1850 et décédé en 1893, est l'un des écrivains majeurs de la littérature française.Il est l'auteur de plusieurs oeuvres à succès en contes, romans et nouvelles. Dans certains de ses récits, il y a une dimension fantastique.Il fait partie du mouvement réaliste et naturaliste. Sa célébrité est similaire à Zola, Flaubert et d'autres.À l'âge de 10 ans, il y a eu divorce de ses parents.Durant sa jeunesse, il a vécu proche de la nature et il a été influencé par un courant anti-religieux.Il a reçu son instruction surtout de sa mère. Celle-ci avait une vaste culture littéraire et était proche de Flaubert. Aidé par ce dernier, à partir de 1880, il se consacre pleinement à l'écriture. Il sera aussi introduit dans le milieu littéraire (naturaliste et réaliste) et les salons littéraires dans lesquels il rencontre plusieurs hommes de lettres, tels que Zola et les frères Goncourt.Cette mème année, il publie Boule de Suif et qui est devenu un grand succès.Sa célébrité étant acquise, il participe à l'oeuvre collective des Soirées de Médan, considérée comme le manifeste de l'école naturaliste.Suite à cela, il fait aussi du journalisme. Les récits publiés dans différents journaux seront regroupés dans des recueils dont la maison Tellier (1881), les Contes de la bécasse (1883), ou les Contes du jour et de la nuit (1885).Il a publié des romans réalistes parmi lesquels, il y a Une vie (1883), Bel-Ami (1885) et Pierre et Jean (1888).Devenu auteur à succès et riche, Maupassant s'offre des voyages en Afrique du Nord, en Italie, en Angleterre, en Bretagne, dans le sud de la France et en Sicile.Il avait une aversion pour la société et vivait en reclus. Physiquement diminué et subissant des troubles nerveux graves, il décède à l'âge de 43 ans.- Fiction - La Maison Tellier par Guy de Maupassant, publié en 1881 en France, est un recueil de nouvelles, et aussi une fiction.
