About the Author: Author ROSALÍA DE ARAGÓN is a recognized performer whose work captures the heart and soul of Spanish New Mexico. A native of Las Vegas, New Mexico, she has toured nationally such as at the Smithsonian Institution with her captivating rendition of the world famous phantasm known as la Llorona. She studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. Rosalía is a faculty member of Hilos Culturales based in Colorado, a major organization dedicated to the preservation of the visual, performing, and literary arts of the American Southwest. Rosalía has been featured in New Mexico Magazine, newspapers, many other publications, and on radio and television. She has appeared in various television commercials and motion pictures. Rosalía de Aragón is well known as a Chautauqua performer sponsored by the New Mexico Humanities Council. She has been the lead actor on stage at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and at the Ricardo Montalban Theater in Hollywood, California. As a recording artist her songs and music have been popular on Spanish radio. This is her first bilingual children's book, featuring legendary la Llorona. Artist ROSALINDA PACHECO has taken an interest in art since the age of five. At an early age she discovered that drawing and painting were a way of expressing and discovering herself and the world around her. This passion for art challenged her to want to learn more. Now 15 years old, she has received awards for her work such as: Lead With the Arts sponsored by the Albuquerque Museum, the Congressional Exhibit featured artist, Tierra Adentro 1st place exhibit winner, featured poster artist for Tierra Adentro Dance Exhibition, Scholastic Art and Writing Awards 1st and 2nd place winner, and 3rd Place recipient of the Aviation Art Contest sponsored by the state of New Mexico. Rosalinda is an exceptional ninth grade student at Camino Real de Tierra Adentro of New Mexico Charter School in Albuquerque. The curriculum at the school centers on Flamenco music and dance, and Spanish cultural traditions, arts, and heritage.
