Sergio Ramírez, 2017 Cervantes Prize winner, examines the story of Amanda Solano, a Costa Rican woman who published a unique novel for which she never gained a much-deserved recognition.

Three female voices narrate the dramatic life of a woman who chose the cursed life of a writer in a rural and closed-minded society. Three voices, three ways of perceiving life, friendships, and love, but all with a common denominator: to tell us who the desired and envied Amanda Solano was.

These voices, each with their own recollection, will take us back to Costa Rica at the beginning of the last century, and thus we will discover a character marked by her beauty and personality, by her defiant sense of freedom, and by her greatest weakness: men.
