There he will try to find a new voice to write while working as a cook in a restaurant managed by Babette, where he will befriend some of the very few townspeople: a retired forest ranger who cares little for human affairs, and a young waitress passing through, searching for the thirteen-thousand-feet mountains she learned about from books.
