About the Book

Mi poesía siempre ha sido un barco a la deriva. A pesar de que he estado rondando el circuito de la literatura por algunos años y he obtenido varios premios y/o reconocimientos, mis poemas nunca han estado apegados a una corriente específica, ni a un grupo ni a ninguna cofradía. Algunas veces "inclasificable", otras veces "actos despiadados en contra del sistema", muchas veces "ingenua" o "desproporcionada", mis textos nunca han estado carentes de críticas de quienes se empeñan en meter en un saco a todos los artistas. Ese barco extraviado en medio del océano que es mi poesía, preparó tres balsas expedicionarias de emergencia para buscar algún indicio, alguna señal. Sin embargo, nadie ha sabido de ellas jamás. Hoy las dejo aquí, tres obras tempranas en mi oficio de escritor, a saber: La Redención del Fuego, If y Absolut, son tres libros que han atravesado otros umbrales, experimentando con nuevas técnicas de navegación, y explorando otras estrellas. He dejado preguntas, rastros, misterios sin resolver en medio de estas palabras. El mapa del tesoro, esperando a ser descifrado. _______________________________________________________________________ La estrategia de esta expedición es simple. Estoy construyendo un gran círculo sobre el fuselaje del tiempo. El reloj se fue a pasear con las gaviotas por un camino de pequeños bares empotrados. Quedé solo en mis lentes con la distancia más corta hacia el mundo -el cordón delicadamente cartesiano que me ahorcaba del aire -y ya no quise sino descender por las grietas que cubrían los discos. He salido a beber en mis bostezos con los mendigos que doblan las columnas de los planetas. He comenzado a pulir el sol de la forma más pausada en la que un escriba puede escaparse de la muerte. Tal vez mañana vengan las teorías a ver mis cicatrices y yo sonreiré en los espejos de sus gafas policiales como una lluvia de murciélagos, o simplemente seré una botella que, servida en la mesa del horizonte, sacuda las melenas de los acueductos; y no habrá paz mientras existan las escaleras de las pirámides como dardos de humo contra el cielo; y seré yo ese gran circulo de polvo que empuñe las guadañas de los trasnochados; y vendrán sobre mi todas las bendiciones y las maldiciones de las jaurías animales. De tal forma que mi ejercicio es una órbita desatada de caminos imperceptibles, donde una hebra de sal puede arrastrar una nube de besos, y un carbón puede ser el fuego mismo, un fuego negro contenido en las estampidas de tordos sobre la mañana. Se acabó la literatura de las cenizas; el ave fénix se quedó dormida sobre una estepa de instrumentos intoxicados y vinieron los chacales para hacer amuletos con los huesos del corredor; las ceremonias de miel negra desvelaron a la luna. Mi único objetivo ha sido atentar contra el filo de la recta y si la historia me bautiza con un espiral diré que fui perseguido por una ráfaga de escuadras. Decidí construir el croquis del universo sobre la base de una estela de pájaros ensangrentados con flores y la mañana de mi pobre existencia se me hizo tan diminuta como cuando quise calentar todo el espacio con un resplandeciente aroma a romero. Sigo a la deriva dentro del círculo, por eso siempre vuelvo a la misma palabra desnuda.Poema/manifiesto: Manhattan puede esperar. Poema. Finalista en el cuarto concurso de poesía altino 2017.
