Cuando el teniente Christopher García, Jefe de Inteligencia del Servicio de Guardacostas en San Juan, Puerto Rico, inicia un programa de patrullaje agresivo, la tasa de incautación de drogas se dispara, pero no todo el mundo está contento; García y su equipo han entrado, sin saberlo, en el territorio exclusivo de un grupo desvergonzado de agentes de aduanas de Estados Unidos y de narcotraficantes que deciden que la Guardia Costera debe ser detenida ... sin importar el método, el costo o las consecuencias. Acerca del autor En 1984, el teniente de navío David Hume fue enviado a Colombia tras el asesinato del Fiscal General de ese país. Fue asignado al Comando de la Fuerza Naval del Atlántico (Armada Nacional de Colombia) como Oficial de Enlace de la Guardia Costera para Operaciones Especiales. Durante el período 1984-1988, Hume llevó a cabo operaciones antidrogas con la Armada Nacional y el Grupo Antinarcóticos de la Policía Nacional de Colombia. Posteriormente, se desempeñó como Jefe de la División de Inteligencia y de Cumplimiento de la Ley en San Juan, Puerto Rico (Sección de las Antillas Mayores). Es miembro vitalicio de la fraternidad Sigma Chi y del Instituto Naval de los Estados Unidos.
About the Author: David Hume nació en Boston y pasó su infancia en Eagle Pass, Texas. Obtuvo su título de Bachiller en Ciencias y Letras en el Colegio Saint James en Saint James, Maryland y se graduó con una Licenciatura en Ciencias y un Doctorado en Jurisprudencia en la Universidad de Baltimore. Se le concedió una beca de investigación en la Universidad de Estudios Marinos de Delaware, donde se especializó en la estructura legal de la protección al medioambiente. Es miembro vitalicio de la Fraternidad Sigma Chi y del Instituto Naval de Estados Unidos de América. Se desempeñó como Jefe de Policía de Little Creek, Delaware y como Asistente Fiscal del Estado de Delaware, asignado al Departamento de Recursos Naturales. También prestó servicios en la Guardia Costera de Estados Unidos, alcanzando el rango de Teniente de Navío. Algunas de sus comisiones fueron Asistente del Oficial Legal, Oficial de Inteligencia (Cuartel del Séptimo Distrito de la Guardia Costera en Miami) y Jefe de la División de Inteligencia y Aplicación de la Ley (Antillas Mayores). Mientras fungía como oficial de inteligencia se le ordenó viajar a Colombia en 1984 después del asesinato del Ministro de Justicia, Rodrigo Lara Bonilla. Fue asignado al Cuartel de la Marina Colombiana del Atlántico en Cartagena en calidad de Oficial de Enlace e Inteligencia para la primera campaña marítima multinacional contra las drogas que se conoció como Operación Wagon Wheel. De 1984 a 1988, mientras estaba destacado en Colombia, Hume condujo acciones antidrogas con la Marina, el Cuerpo de Marinos y el Grupo Antinarcóticos de la Policía Nacional además de realizar operaciones en varios lugares de Centro y Sudamérica.
