"La casa del rosal rojo" es una pieza de teatro del género de la tragedia. Un día de otoño de 1976, llega a la residencia de la familia Gonzaga, un agente encubierto de la Gestapo chilena. Su propósito es descubrir el paradero del padre de Mané -personaje implícito- amiga de Andrea, hija menor, quien habiendo sido parte del grupo de Amigos Personales del extinto presidente, permanece en la clandestinidad. Sin embargo, el real propósito es muy distinto, produciendo al ser develado un cisma que modifica el destino de todos y cada uno de los miembros. Esta pieza teatral habla de la resonancia de la dictadura más férrea de América Latina, en una familia chilena aristocrática, que acciona y reacciona inútilmente, incapaz de defenderse, pues contiene turbios secretos que la atan tristemente de manos. Ve así sus destinos modificados de modo radical, por las estrategias del verdadero protagonista de esta tragedia, quien es el que mueve y dirige la acción y el drama, según el teórico Lajos (1960), es decir, el agente encubierto de la Gestapo chilena, Hernán Suazo. Ítalo Gonzaga, el padre, también es un personaje implícito, tal vez el más trascendente, pues encarna la figura de un progenitor ausente y -utilizando un vocablo acuñado por los psicoanalistas- 'abandónico'. Médico e intelectual de alto renombre, y lo mismo que Marie, su mujer, perteneciente a la clase pudiente de la sociedad chilena, debido a su éxito profesional, eleva notablemente su éxito y su peculio. Opositor al General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, quien ocupó la primera magistratura de Chile entre 1952 y 1958, impulsa con mucha energía la campaña del entonces candidato a presidente de la república, Dn. Jorge Alessandri Rodríguez, el que finalmente resulta elegido y quien lo considera para ocupar el cargo de Ministro de la Salud. Pero su evidente alcoholismo, al no poder superar el trauma producto del ataque criminal a Amanda, su hija mayor, lo aleja del nuevo presidente, de su mujer y de sus tres hijos restantes, cometiendo finalmente suicidio. La familia y los contactos políticos, lo hacen aparecer como accidente.Por lo sucedido a Amanda, el padre intentó refugiarse en su segunda hija, a la que bautiza con el nombre de su actriz favorita en su juventud: Myrna Loy. El recuerdo más preciado de Myrna, lo constituye el viaje a New York City, en 1957, donde tuvo la oportunidad de ver 'My Fair Lady' en Broadway y con Julie Andrews como estrella; el guión de la comedia musical sella su vida. Y ella le dice a Hernán, en algún momento: "Desde entonces, he soñado con que mi vida fuese como la de Eliza Doolittle... Pero papá falleció tres años después, y la vida nada de eso trajo consigo...." Esta obra muestra también el conmovedor romance entre el único hijo varón y su profesor universitario, siendo uno de las primeras propuestas de amor igualitario obvio, registradas en el teatro chileno.Avenida Los Leones, y hasta la década de los 80, tenía fabulosas residencias, llamadas localmente mansiones, de las que muy pocas quedan en pie en el 2018. Una de ellas, ubicada a pasos de la Avenida Providencia -bastión de la oligarquía hasta la década de los '80-, en la vereda poniente, vive la familia Gonzaga, durante el tiempo atrapado por la diégesis de esta historia.Nacido en Santiago de Chile, el escritor Marcelo Vicente RG es un psicólogo chileno-escandinavo. En Suecia, recibe la certificación en Psicología de parte del Gobierno, después de aprender el idioma sueco y completar una extensa pasantía solicitada por el Ministerio de la Salud y Asuntos Sociales, en el Consultorio Psicosocial para Inmigrantes, de Gotemburgo, donde profundiza su formación en Clínica Intercultural y DD HH. Obtiene la Maestría en Guion Cinematográfico, en 2017.
