Se refiere a cómo y por qué se fueron, los problemas que encuentran, cómo los resuelven, cuentan cosas a las que hubieron de acostumbrarse y cómo ven a su país de origen. Contiene entrevistas-caso de emigrantes venezolanos, además de 15 reportajes sobre la emigración de venezolanos que ofrecen una clara panorámica sobre su vida en el norte. Se trata de un gran reportaje sobre este apasionante tema de actualidad. Contiene también comparaciones de la emigración de venezolanos con la de Suramérica y otros países del mundo. Hay reportes desde cinco distintas ciudades. Presenta estadísticas oficiales y actualizadas que sirven para darse una idea clara de la realidad de los venezolanos en Norteamérica. About the Author: Lo que define la carrera periodística de Carlos Subero es la aplicación de técnicas de la investigación social. Lo aprendió en la Universidad de Carolina del Norte donde fue discípulo de Philip Meyer, el gurú del Periodismo de Precisión. Fue reportero y jefe de Información política en El Diario de Caracas, y luego reportero político en El Universal, donde perteneció a la unidad de Investigación. Allí destacó con sus trabajos en materia electoral, en análisis de encuestas políticas y en el diseño y realización de censos de opinión parlamentarios. Desde 1997 desarrolló investigaciones con bases de datos oficiales sobre temas hasta entonces inéditos en el país, como el financiamiento de campañas electorales. También fue coordinador de corresponsalía del diario La Calle en Caracas. Ha sido conferencista en Washington, Tokio y Lima en temas de periodismo y política. En medio de la polarización política en Venezuela, Subero ha intentado mantener posiciones equilibradas y con sustento. Ha sido profesor tanto en la Misión Sucre como en el diplomado de periodismo de investigación del Instituto Prensa y Sociedad (Ipys). Con frecuencia es invitado a las escuelas de comunicación de las universidades a impartir charlas sobre cómo hacer periodismo de precisión. Es miembro de Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE), de la Universidad de Missouri, y del International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), de Washington.
