Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 2,0, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Deutsche Philologie), Veranstaltung: Proseminar Georg Büchner, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Eine kurze Sequenz aus dem Leben des Dichters Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz bildet das Zentrum des "Lenz" genannten Fragments des Schriftstellers Georg Büchner. Eben dieses Werk wurde erst nach dem Tod Büchners veröffentlicht und über Jahrzehnte hinweg kaum beachtet. Heutzutage stellt die Verleihung des Georg-Büchner-Preises für deutschsprachige Autoren eine besondere Auszeichnung dar. Dieser Literaturpreis wird an Dichter und Schriftsteller vergeben, die an der Gestaltung des deutschen Literaturlebens großen Anteil haben. Dabei wird der Preis jährlich Mitte Oktober verliehen, wobei dadurch Georg Büchner gedacht wird, der am 17. Oktober 1813 im Großherzogtum Hessen-Darmstadt geboren wurde. Verblüffend ist diese nachträgliche Ehrung des Dichters deswegen, weil dieser in Form des "Hessischen Landboten" im Jahre 1834 zu einer Revolution gegen die damalige Staatsordnung aufgerufen hatte und anschließend von den polizeilichen Behörden per Steckbrief gesucht worden war. Schließlich konnte sich Büchner nur durch Flucht nach Frankreich vor einer Verhaftung retten. Im Jahre 1831 setzte Büchner in Straßburg sein bereits begonnenes Medizinstudium fort und beschäftigte sich zeitgleich mit dem Lebenswerk von Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz, der sich zwischen 1772 und 1775 ebenfalls in Straßburg aufgehalten hatte. Das Genie als Vertreter des Sturm und Drang war später in Moskau krank und verlassen verstorben. Georg Büchner, der am 19. Februar 1837 in Zürich nach kurzer Krankheit an Typhus starb, hinterließ mit seinem "Lenz" ein Meisterwerk realistischer Literatur, das auf authentische Art und Weise seine Kunst- und Lebensauffassung darstellt.
