In den folgenden Jahren konnte allerdings ein Wandel vom Verkäufermarkt zum Käufermarkt beobachtet werden. Unternehmen sind heutzutage angehalten, ihre Kunden durch Marketingaktivitäten zu gewinnen und zu halten. Der Handel hat dies längst erkannt und versucht den Kunden durch Rabatte, attraktive Prämien, Punktesammelkarten, etc. an das Unternehmen zu binden. Allgemein versteht man unter Kundenbindung alle Maßnahmen eines Unternehmens, die beabsichtigen die bisherigen und auch zukünftigen Verhaltensabsichten eines Kunden gegenüber einem Anbieter oder dessen Leistungen positiv zu gestalten. Die Beziehung zum Kunden soll für die Zukunft stabilisiert werden. Dieser Wandel verbunden mit dem Ziel einer hohen Kundenbindung gewinnt auch zunehmend Bedeutung im Gesundheitswesen. "Die Zeiten, als Patienten das Wartezimmer bevölkerten und der niedergelassene Arzt keinen Gedanken darauf verschwendete, ob der Patient auch wiederkommt, sind vorbei." Patienten erwarten optimale Behandlung, Beratung und Informationen. Es kommt nicht nur auf vielseitiges und qualitativ hochwertiges Leistungsangebot an, sondern ebenso auf "die individuelle Note und vor allem die Sensibilität für die ärztliche Aufgabe und ihre Wirkung auf die Patienten." Zusätzlich ist die Zahl der Zahnärzte und damit die Versorgungsdichte seit Anfang der neunziger Jahre deutlich angestiegen. Während ein Zahnarzt 1992 noch 1.439 Einwohner zu versorgen hatte, waren es im Jahr 2005 nur noch 1.264. Der Kampf um Patienten wird demzufolge härter. Warum soll ein Patient ausgerechnet in diese Praxis gehen, wenn es in der Nähe auch andere Praxen gibt, die das Gleiche anbieten? Mittels der folgenden Hausarbeit wird
