Wie viele unterscheidbare Zustände werden auf diese Weise von fünf Glühlampen produziert? Nun, das lässt sich [leicht] abzählen: Fünf sind an. Diese vier sind an, jene ist aus. Drei sind an, die zwei sind aus. Und so weiter und so fort. Die Anzahl unterschiedlicher Möglichkeiten lässt sich natürlich auch ausrechnen. Zwei Zustände, fünf Glühlampen: Zwei hoch fünf heisst die Formel. Und zweiundreissig heisst das Resultat. Logisch! Ok. Wie viele unterscheidbare Zustände lassen sich denn für - sagen wir mal - [siebzehn] Glühlampen errechnen? Das sollte ja jetzt kein Problem mehr darstellen. Zwei unterscheidbare Zustände, [siebzehn] Glühlampen: Richtig, zwei hoch [siebzehn]. Gibt? [Genau 131072] [...] unterscheidbare Zustände [...]. Angenommen, es geht nicht um Glühlampen, sondern um Menschen - [genauer: um Schülerinnen und Schüler der Klasse 10 GR 10 der Beruflichen Schulen des Landkreises Waldeck-Frankenberg in Korbach und Bad Arolsen - exakt 17 Schülerinnen und Schüler!] [...]. Wie viele unterscheidbare Zustände gibt es wohl bei [diesen 17] Lernenden zu verzeichnen, die ja jeder für sich mehr als ein-fach nur ein- oder ausgeschaltet sind?" Dieses stellenweise abgeänderte Zitat von M�LLER stellt die Individualisierung als zentrales Element der Schulwirklichkeit heraus. Die Lehrenden finden in jeder zu unterrichtenden Klasse eine Vielzahl von Individuen vor, die allesamt ganz unterschiedliche Erfahrungen, Wünsche, Lebensziele und Biografien vorweisen. Ausgehend von der Individualisierung der Schulwirklichkeit hat sich damit auch ein weiterer Begriff herausgebildet, welcher die Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten der einzelnen Schülerinnen und Schüler stärker in den Mittelpunkt des Unterrichts rücken soll: Die Kompe
