Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Berufsbildung, Weiterbildung, Note: 1,3, Universität Trier, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit geht es um die Frage, ob innerhalb des Berufsvorbereitungsjahres ein Kompetenzzuwachs erfolgt oder ob dieser lediglich Intention ist und mit der Realität wenig zu tun hat. Dass die Fragestellung berechtigt und v.a. sehr aktuell ist, zeigt sich daran, dass die Zahl der SchülerInnen, welche nach Beendigung der Schulpflicht ins BVJ kommen, innerhalb von 15 Jahren (1992 bis 2007) um 67% gestiegen ist (vgl.Beicht 2009, S.3). Im Hinblick auf diese Zahlen wird deutlich, dass es für die Jugendlichen, insbesondere für diejenigen mit maximal Hauptschulabschluss, offensichtlich immer schwieriger wird, den Übergang ins Berufsleben zu meistern. Aber selbst Jugendlichen mit mittlerem Bildungsabschluss gelingt es gerade mal zur Hälfte, innerhalb von drei Monaten nach Schulabschluss eine voll qualifizierende Berufsausbildung aufzunehmen (vgl. ebd.). Aufgrund der steigenden Zahlen muss dringend geprüft werden, ob das BVJ Kompetenzen, welche für eine Berufsausbildung benötigt werden, vermittelt, oder ob es lediglich als "Auffangbecken" bzw. "Warteschleife" für die Jugendlichen dient. Meine These ist, dass die Jugendlichen im Übergangssystem bzw. im BVJ keine Kompetenzen erwerben, da sie die, die sie dort erwerben sollen, bereits in der allgemeinbildenden Schule erworben haben. Im Folgenden werde ich kurz das Übergangssystem darstellen und anschließend das BVJ und den dort intendierten Kompetenzerwerb am Beispiel von Rheinland-Pfalz erläutern. Eine Schwierigkeit, die bei meiner Fragestellung unumgänglich ist, besteht darin sich mit dem Begriff "Kompetenz" auseinanderzusetzen. Jeder spricht von Kompetenz, und es hat den Anschein, dass jeder zu wissen glaubt, was man unter Kompetenz versteht bzw. verstehen soll.
