"In dieser Arbeit geht es um Statistik und Statistikausbildung, warum das etwas Wichtiges ist, warum es nicht trivial ist und warum sich so viel geandert hat in der Wahrnehmung, Umsetzung und Vermittlung der Statistik." So lautet der erste Satz dieser Arbeit, und er zeigt bereits den Weg auf, der beschritten wird. Mit Hilfe einer hermeneutischen Argumentation werden die Komponenten Statistik, Kommunikation, Lernen, Computer, Internet in einer Zirkelbewegung auf das ubergeordnete Erkenntnisobjekt Statistik -- und damit Statistikausbildung -- ausgerichtet. Kommunikationsprobleme in der Statistikausbildung werden innerhalb der Argumentation identifiziert, und es stellt sich die Frage, wie diese gemildert werden konnen. Mit Hilfe der drei Argumentationsstrange Statistik, Kommunikation, Lernen kann ein Fundament errichtet werden, von dem aus die beiden Zirkel Computer und Internet einen erhohten Ursprung finden. Der letzte Teil der Arbeit wird dann auch dem eigenen Untertitel gerecht. Durch das generierte, theoretische Fundament kann eine Einschatzung in bezug auf das Lernen im Internet getroffen werden. Diese Argumentation kann eben nicht allein dadurch erfolgen, dass man sich im Ort des Geschehens (Internet) aufhalt und die von den Herolden der Neuen Medien als heilbringend angepriesenen Produkte (e-learning) betrachtet und anschliessend bewertet. Eine ganzheitliche Herangehensweise ist somit zwingend fur eine seriose Einschatzung der Frage, ob das Internet, gerade als Forum zum Lernen, fur alle da sein muss -- Stichwort Schulen ans Netz! --, diesem also eine inharente Wichtigkeit zugesprochen wird, so dass Internet fur alle, als absoluter Imperativ formuliert, die einzige Moglichkeit darstellt, eine Teilung der Gesellschaft zu vermeiden. Oder ob das Internet nicht besser mit dem Autofahren verglichen werden sollte: Nicht jeder hat ein Auto, nicht jeder kann Auto fahren. Manche brauchen ein Auto, andere nicht. Es zu lernen, schafft praktisch auch ein jeder, und manchmal ist es in der Tat ganz hilfreich, ein Auto zu haben. Die vorliegende Arbeit versucht, genau diese Problematiken zu beleuchten und Vorschlage zum Umgang mit dem Internet als Medium zum Lernen zu generieren.
