About the Book

The rainforests of Central America: Decades of research by pharmaceutical companies result in a drug capable of preventing many of the world's deadliest diseases. What if it fell into the wrong hands? Southern Arizona desert: Mexican illegal immigrants are disappearing - hundreds vanishing without a trace. When US Immigration Agent Jason Holt rescues a group of terrified immigrants from a ruthless human trafficker, he is unknowingly thrust into a chilling plot of biological terrorism. His only lead is Maria Escobar, a beautiful Mexican government agent conducting her own covert investigation. As decaying bodies begin to accumulate in the blistering Arizona desert, Holt and Maria find themselves in a race to prevent a madman from fulfilling his apocalyptic vision. If they fail, it means humanity's extinction. Acclaim for Kokopelli Harvest: "Matt Marine's Kokopelli Harvest is ripped straight from the headlines, touching upon issues of illegal immigration and human trafficking. But at its heart, this debut is a taut and hell-bent adventure story. A blend of Michael Crichton's scientific terror and Tom Clancy's political intrigue, Matt Marine pulls off a thriller for the new age!" - James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of Black Order "Matt Marine delivers another pulse-pounding novel, crackling with realism. Against the true-to-life backdrop of human suffering along the U.S. border with Mexico, ICE agent Jason Holt takes on a megalomaniac with a lust for blood and power. Working with his own team and an alluring Mexican agent, Holt follows the trail of disappeared illegal immigrants to uncover a plot that will threaten American cities unless he can stop it. Marine's suspenseful storytelling, engaging characters and extensive knowledge of the southwestern frontier make this one a winner." - James C. Mitchell, Shamus Award-nominated author of Also Wounded, coming in 2015
About the Author: Matt has always been a daydreamer. He dreams about a life of adventure, solving mysteries and saving the world. In 2004, he began living his dream - by writing them down on paper. Kokopelli Harvest was his first attempt at writing a book. He based it on his love of thrillers that he'd read when he was growing up. But Matt's writing wasn't limited to novels during this time. He also worked as a freelance writer for Arizona Highways magazine, a humor columnist for Irish Dance Magazine and he authored (and illustrated) an online comic book, The Celtic Crusader. It took Matt a couple years to finish Kokopelli Harvest, then it gathered dust for a few more as he continued to write. In 2012, he published his widely-acclaimed mystery novel, Devil's Moon. The success of Devil's Moon gave Matt the incentive to dust off his first true love and publish it. When he's not writing mysteries and thrillers, you'll find him exploring the state, discovering lost ghost towns and getting into trouble with his infamous companion, Cat-dog, by his side. He writes about these adventures on his popular outdoor adventure website called Experience Arizona (www.experience-az.com). He also enjoys photography and you can find some of his award-winning images within the pages of Experience Arizona or on his Facebook page (www.facebook.com/experiencearizona).
