Fur die betriebswirtschaftliche Entscheidungsfindung besteht die Notwendigkeit, bislang unbekannte Zusammenhange und wertvolle Information aus einer immer grosser werdenden Datenbasis zu ermitteln. Dies erfordert eine neue Generation von intelligenten und moglichst automatischen Modellen und Techniken, die den Anwender bei der Analyse der Daten unterstutzen. Derzeitige Ansatze zur Klassifikation auf Basis neuronaler Netze weisen Schwachen auf. Die in dieser Arbeit entwickelten Klassifikatoren basieren auf der Adaptiven Resonanz Theorie und der Bildung von Ensembles. Thomas Zabel entwickelt in diesem Buch eine Methode zur Erstellung von Klassifikatoren auf Basis der Adaptiven Resonanz Theorie. Zu seiner Methode erstellt er zudem einen effizienten Algorithmus, der auf Erkenntnissen der Ensemblebildung aufbaut, sowie ein Softwareprodukt, das den Algorithmus implementiert und die Anwendung und die Erprobung der Methode ermoglicht. Mithilfe des Softwareprodukts wird eine empirische Untersuchung von Versicherungsdaten unter der Fragestellung Erkennung von aktiven bzw. inaktiven Versicherungsagenturen durchgefuhrt. Die Klassifikationsqualitat der verwendeten Methoden erweist sich als zufrieden stellend. Das Buch wendet sich an Dozenten und Studierende der Mathematik, Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik und Betriebswirtschaftslehre sowie an Praktiker, die Neuronale Netze insbesondere im Bereich der Datenanalyse einsetzen wollen. Thomas Zabel, Jahrgang 1975, studierte Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Westfalischen Wilhelms-Universitat Munster. Als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Bereich Quantitative Methoden nahm er anschliessend Aufgaben in Forschung und Lehre wahr. Forschungsschwerpunkt bildeten betriebswirtschaftliche Anwendungen von KI-Methoden. Im Januar 2005 erfolgte die Promotion zum Doktor der Wirtschaftswissenschaften.
