Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - Nationalsozialismus, II. Weltkrieg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Aktion T4 des NS-Staates im Sommer 1941. Besonders wird die Rolle des Protestes von Kardinal von Galen in den Blick genommen und zwei seiner Predigten genauer analysiert. Was heute unter Aktion T4 verstanden wird, ist die systematische Ermordung von rd. 70.000 geistig und körperlich behinderten Menschen während der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus. Die Ermordungen wurden unter den Überschriften "Euthanasie" bzw. "Aktion Gnadentod" durchgeführt. Die in der Nachkriegszeit für diese Aktion der Nationalsozialisten benutzte Bezeichnung Aktion T4 ist abgeleitet worden aus dem Sitz der Leitung der Verantwortlichen, nämlich in Berlin in der Tiergartenstr. 4. Nicht nur rassenhygienische Vorstellungen sondern auch kriegswirtschaftliche Erwägungen dürften den Beschluss zur Ermordung "unwerten Lebens" zugrunde gelegen haben. Nach ersten kirchlichen Protesten gegen die seit dem Jahr 1940 laufende Aktion wurde sie nicht mehr in aller Öffentlichkeit sondern versteckt und mehr dezentral durchgeführt. Die Aktion wurde erst durch das Kriegsende im Mai 1945 tatsächlich beendet. In diesem Zusammenhang muss auch das Verhältnis der Kirche zum nationalsozialistischen Staat betrachtet werden. Es stellt sich außerdem die Frage wie im Zusammenhang mit der Kirche der Begriff des Widerstands zu behandeln ist. Hierzu muss veranschaulicht werden, wie diese Begrifflichkeit in der Forschung behandelt wird. Doch die Euthanasie traf in der Bevölkerung auf Widerstand. Hier ist vor allem der Bischof von Münster Clemens August Graf von Galen zu nennen. Durch seine bekannten Kanzelproteste aus dem Sommer 1941 erwirkte er einen augenscheinlichen Stopp der Euthanasie. Hierzu sollen die Predigten vom 20. Juli 1941 und vom 3. August 1941 analysiert werden. Letztlich stellt sich die Frage ob sich Bischof von Galens Protest
