Forschungsarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Multimedia, Internet, neue Technologien, Note: 1,0, Universität Rostock (Institut für Medienforschung), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die folgende Forschungsfrage wurde im Rahmen des Projektes der Universität Rostock, Institut für Medienforschung, zur Kinopublikumsforschung untersucht und soll in diesem Bericht erläutert werden: Aus welchen Gründen entscheidet sich ein Filmrezipient einen Film im Kino zu sehen und nicht zu Hause zu streamen? Das Kino hat seinen Ursprung in den öffentlichen Filmvorführungen in den 1980er Jahren in New York. Bis in die 1920er Jahre erfolgte in allen größeren Städten der Bau von Kinopalästen. Mit der Zeit erfreute sich das Kino (auch Lichtspieltheater genannt) immer größerer Beliebtheit. Aber was ist es, das die Kinobesucher anzieht? Der Drang nach Unterhaltung auf anspruchsvolle Art und Weise? Der Wunsch sein Wissen zu erweitern und das Interesse an fremden Kulturen? Oder ist es allein die Geselligkeit unter Freunden, mit dem Partner oder der Familie? Das Motiv des Kinopublikums ist es, was Forscher nun seit langer Zeit regelmäßig untersuchen. Nicht nur die Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung beschäftigt sich im Auftrag der CAG Cinema Advertising Group heute u.a. mit diesem Thema, schon GESIS das Leibniz Institut für Sozialwissenschaften führte 1988 erste Studien zu diesem Thema durch. Gerade in unserem Zeitalter, in dem das Internet eine immer größere Rolle spielt, ist fraglich, warum das Kino immer noch so viel Publikum anzieht. Das Internet bietet eine vielfältige Filmauswahl, die teilweise sogar kostenlos zur Verfügung steht. Das sogenannte Streaming scheint gerade bei der jüngeren Generation immer beliebter zu werden. "Dabei werden Medieninhalte auf dem eigenen Computer im Internet in Echtzeit übertragen und abgespielt. Die Dateien werden lediglich zwischengespeichert, aber nicht heruntergeladen".
