About the Book

Kimbrall O'Hara is a current orphan, following the deaths of his father, an Irish soldier, and his Irish mom, who died as a result of their desperate poverty. Kim's circle of relatives lives in India, so when he's orphaned, he becomes a beggar in Lahore. He takes odd jobs for Mahbub Ali, a horse trader, a neighborhood spy for the British. As a boy raised in India, he is culturally very Indian, so he lives in network with the local people and the British alike.Kim meets a Tibetan Lama, a monk who's on a sacred quest to go beyond the wheel of human fortune and destiny. He believes if he can find the "River of the Arrow" that he can be enlightened. Kim follows the monk as a pupil. On the journey, Ali costs him with a mission, to supply intelligence to the British in Umballa. They tour the Grand Trunk Road. Then, a pal of Kim's father identifies him and separates him from the monk. The monk urges the boy to obey the winds of destiny, and the boy is taken again to metropolis, to a British boarding college in Lucknow. The monk pays for his attendance there. They maintain in touch for the duration of Kim's schooling, and Kim also keeps in touch with the spies, doing little jobs sometimes. He is skilled as a secret agent. Part of his education is to memorize trays of items, then to word when one is taken away or delivered.Kim is given a function inside the Great Game with the aid of the British authorities, but earlier than his activity starts, he is taking a sabbatical. He recollects the lama, and together, the monk and the boy journey to the Himalayas wherein the boy will undercover agent on Russian intelligence operatives.Kim successfully steals Russian intelligence, and Mookherjee, Kim's advanced, befriends the Russians to keep them off the trail. Kim is forced to rescue the lama from Russian intelligence. The lama realizes that his adventure has long past massively awry. He has to be in the plains, not the mountains. He and his porters set a route for the plains. Kim gives you the intelligence and rests inside the plains. The lama reveals the river he changed into searching for and believes he has attained enlightenment.
