About the Book

Vickram's life is shattered when he is orphaned due to a building collapse. He was barely twelve years old then. He works at a tea stall vendor along with another orphaned boy, Ravi, of his own age. Ravi too had lost his father and was living with his mother who worked as a maid for a living. She did not return one day and found herself in the missing persons list with the police. Vikram and Ravi both worked at the tea stall for some time then they had an opportunity to work at a construction site as assistants to a mason and a carpenter. Then fate took Vikram to work on a construction site where a multi storey structure was coming up on the very place he had his house. There he learns that the house where he was residing with his parents had come down due to poor construction and criminal negligence of the builders. He vows then and there that he will avenge his parents death. Vikram becomes an assistant to a mason and Ravi an assistant to a carpenter. They both work there in that multi-storey building construction. There they meet some of their long lost friends Iftequar, Manoj and Sarika. They too are the victims of that building collapse. Iftequar and Manoj work in a garage as a mechanic. They too want to assist Vikram to have his revenge on the builders but the sister of Iftequar, Shabnam, says to grow up first for that kind of thing. Vikram and Ravi gather study materials and want to continue their studies. After the completion of that building, Vikram and Ravi work independently as they are grown up boys then. They are offered a job in another famous construction company where they work with dedication and honesty to become supervisors. At that instance, Ravi comes to know of his mother. He is told that she died in a hospital after being in comatose condition for five years. Vikram and Ravi delve into her condition and how she came to that. They find that she was beaten up and raped before she was found unconscious in a railway platform. She was taken to the hospital by the police where she remained in coma for five years. For Ravi, who had thought that she had just abandoned him all along, was a devastating news. He also vows revenge on the perpetrators. Vikram also promises Ravi to hunt down those men who were responsible for her death. When Vikram and Ravi attain the age of twenty-five something, they set out on their own to work elsewhere with different builders and contractors. Vikram goes to work with the builder who had built the building where he was residing when he was a boy. He gets in touch with the builder's daughter. Vikram plans to use her and get his revenge. Ravi too works at different places but stays with Vikram in one apartment. From there they plan their strategy to have their respective revenge.
