The Kids 4ever Club is a book of fun and creative activities for children and the young at heart. Questions accompany each activity that spur a child's creativity and imagination. In a world where many children sit passively in front of the television set or playing with premade toys for hours on end, the Kids 4ever Club urges them to actively pursue activities that will challenge them. The husband and wife team of Tim and Gail Scullion have created and belonged to the "Kids 4ever Club" for years, and have just recently decided to share their club with other "kids"-both young and old. The couple vowed early on in their marriage to never forget what it was like to be young and have fun, because you don't quit playing because you grow old-you grow old because you quit playing. Tim decided to use his master's degree in education to stimulate children's imagination through fun: By making learning fun, you can create a life-long desire to learn. To be a "kid 4ever" is to make a change of your whole outlook on life, and it is both mind changing and cathartic. If you are a parent or grandparent, all you have to do is spend some time with your child or grandchild and really listen to what he or she says. Children will make the change for you: They will open your eyes to an uncomplicated, unprejudiced way of looking at the world. They will lead you to the simpler things in life: Conversation, imagination, play, and discovery. Be careful-you might learn something from them! They will reteach you some of life's most important lessons; lessons that you have learned and tucked away somewhere in the farthest reaches of your mind. The mind of a child is a guide to a treasure-the treasure of rediscovering your inner child. Spend quality time with your child/children, and every once in a while put away the premade toys and video games and imaginate: (That's a kids 4ever term for imagine + create-actually it's a real, but obscure English word.) Imaginate your own toys, games, musical instruments and activities. Stimulate the creative juices in your own child's mind instead of letting them sit passively in front of the television set. Don't just let your children be a member of the Kids 4ever Club, but join too! Be an active part of your child's life and make learning, discovering, and imaginating fun. If you as a parent/grandparent/teacher do this, your kids will want to learn, will never stop learning, and will be creative and successful as adults.
